Nobody said being a Christian would be easy.

Doing the deed itself was tough, but living in it is tougher, especially when you hate contradicting yourself.

I had previously posted a blog making fun of lesbians. If you seen it, you may have noticed I took it down.

The reason is simple: as a Christian, I can't make fun of lesbians anymore.

Not even Chastity Bono.

But then again, why not?

The Gay Community gets to have it's way with us!

Who am I to turn the other cheek?

Ask anyone who knows me - they'll tell you I rarely skip the opportunity to grab a cheap laugh (see Chastity Bono jab above).

So why stop now?

Well, for one thing, I live in a pretty gay neighborhood.

I'm chuckling typing that sentence right now, since the word "gay" itself has been redefined by the young hetero set as a "stupid" or "lame" equivalent.

Having just hung out with my nephews this past weekend, I got to hear the phrase quite a bit.

Which is probably why alot of people in the gay community shun religion... and my nephews.

And why shouldn't they? People who supposedly share my faith have done more then their share of gay bashing.

Notice how I said "supposedly".

You can't do it if you're walking in faith.

It's a no-no.

So along with all the OTHER stuff I can no longer do I must refrain from making fun of gay people.

And I'm okay with it.

I've found out that in my Christian walk, the less I used to do means the more I end up doing.

It's no secret - I live in one of the most rainbow friendly places in all of California.

And I must live in peace, project peace, keep my peace.

If I don't then I'll just be another bad example for people (straight, gay or whatever) to use an excuse for not... well, you know what.
