FADE IN: EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT Nice neighborhood house. Bumping music gives away the party going on in there...
INT. HOUSE And a party is indeed going on. Kids everywhere inside the house are drinking and living it up.
JEREMY (V.O.) Until a few weeks ago, this was my typical Saturday night.
CUT TO:
MICKEY, AMY and SHEILA at the party, holding court with their various friends.
Mickey approaches Jeremy who's sitting on a couch alone, looking uncomfortable in this surrounding.
Mickey offers him his beer. Jeremy declines. Mickey shrugs and walks away.
JEREMY (V.O.) Then something happened at school.
FADE TO: TRANSITION JEREMY ON THE COUCH SEATED IN THE SAME POSITION IN THIS SCENE AS HE IS IN THE NEXT SCENE... INT. SCHOOL OFFICE Jeremy sitting outside the door to the COUNSELOR'S office. He looks nervous. JEREMY (V.O.) I had to go see my school counselor about my grades. They've been slipping since last year. It turns out I might not graduate. FADE TO: TRANSITION JEREMY SEATED IN THE SAME POSITION IN THIS SCENE AS HE IS IN THE NEXT SCENE... INT. JEREMY'S HOUSE - NIGHT Jeremy's face is aglow in light as he sits on the couch at his house, watching TV. He looks bummed out. JEREMY (V.O.) Knowing that my mom had already gotten a call about my grades put a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach all day. Facing her when I got home was the worst... Behind him the moment he's been dreading all day is happening - the front door opens and his DAD comes home. Jeremy's MOM greets him at the door and quietly fills him in on the situation. Jeremy's Dad shakes his head. Jeremy can feel his Dad's glare beaming at him from behind. Jeremy's Dad puts his coat up and walks into the living room. JEREMY (V.O.) Scratch that - it was way worse explaining myself to my Dad. The glare from the television on Jeremy's face goes away once the TV gets shut off. Jeremy nervously sits up and looks at his Dad (off-screen). copyright, © 2007 Paul Silva visit us on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/newtexture |
