First came the US government's demeaning of lives as evidenced by the negligible support for US soldiers in Iraq and should they be killed, as well as the feeble response to Hurricane Katrina and the slashing of other social programs, but now comes the actual devaluing.

You've lost value to the US government according to the Environmental Protection Agency; you're now only worth about $6.9 million. (Note: does not apply to the majority of Americans who can not afford adequate legal protection.)

Memo to self: denominate my life in Euros as a bulwark against inflationary pressures.
